Complete domain management policy covering registrant obligations, real-time Dynadot registrar dependencies, renewal grace periods, DNS control, and ICANN-compliant transfer authorization processes.
1. Introduction & ICANN / Registry Regulatory Framework
DUSTWON PRIVATE LIMITED ("Dustwon", "we", "our") provides domain name search, registration, renewal, nameserver configuration, and DNS management services. Dustwon acts as an authorized domain reseller operating in technical partnership with Dynadot LLC, an ICANN-accredited registrar (IANA ID: 472). All domain registrations are governed by the policies and regulations of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), including the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA), applicable registry operators (e.g., VeriSign for .com/.net, Public Interest Registry for .org, National Internet Exchange of India / NIXI for .in), and this Domain Registration & Transfer Policy.
2. Domain Search, Real-Time Availability & Pricing
Domain search results displayed on our website represent real-time query responses from registrar and registry endpoints. However, an availability search does not constitute a reservation or guarantee of registration. A domain name is only secured once payment is successfully processed, the registration order is accepted by the registrar API, and active registration status is confirmed on global registry root servers.
Prices displayed for initial registration may differ from renewal and transfer pricing. Certain registry operators designate specific short, brandable, or dictionary words as "Premium Domains", which carry non-standard registry acquisition and renewal surcharges. In such instances, the exact premium price required by the registry shall be quoted prior to final settlement.
3. Accurate Registrant Contact Data (WHOIS / RDAP Obligations)
In accordance with ICANN regulations, the registrant must provide accurate, current, and complete contact details, including full legal name, valid physical address, telephone number, and active administrative email address. Wilfully providing false or misleading contact data, or failing to respond to registrar verification inquiries within fifteen (15) calendar days, constitutes a material breach and grounds for immediate domain suspension or cancellation by the registrar.
4. WHOIS Identity Privacy Protection
Where supported by the applicable top-level domain (TLD) registry, Dustwon provides automated WHOIS Privacy Protection. This service replaces your personal physical address, phone number, and direct email address in public RDAP/WHOIS lookup directories with proxy privacy contact details, safeguarding you from spam, telemarketing, and identity scraping, while preserving your full legal ownership of the domain.
Note: Certain registries (such as the .IN Registry / NIXI or certain country-code ccTLDs) strictly prohibit privacy masking under local registry bylaws. In such cases, contact details must remain publicly visible as required by registry rules.
5. Registration Periods, Expiration & Grace Periods
Domains can be registered for terms ranging from one (1) to ten (10) years, depending on registry specifications. It is the sole responsibility of the registrant to ensure that domain names are renewed prior to their expiration date.
- Automated Renewal Reminders: Dustwon dispatches automated email and WhatsApp renewal reminders at 30 days, 15 days, 7 days, and 1 day prior to domain expiration;
- Auto-Renew Grace Period (Days 1 to 30 post-expiration): If a domain is not renewed by its expiration date, it enters an operational grace period (typically 30 to 36 days depending on the TLD). During this period, the domain ceases to resolve on DNS, but the registrant may still renew the domain at our standard renewal price without penalty;
- Redemption Grace Period (Days 31 to 60 post-expiration): Following the grace period, the domain is placed into Redemption Grace Period (RGP) by the central registry. To restore a domain in redemption, the registrant must pay the registry-mandated Redemption Restoration Surcharge (typically ₹6,500 to ₹12,000 depending on the TLD) in addition to the standard annual renewal fee;
- Pending Delete & Public Drop: If not redeemed, the domain enters a 5-day Pending Delete cycle, after which it is dropped by the registry and made available for public registration on a first-come, first-served basis. Dustwon bears no liability for dropped domains resulting from unpaid renewals.
6. DNS & Nameserver Management
Registered domain holders have full self-service control through our Client Portal to configure:
- Custom Primary and Secondary Nameservers (e.g., pointing to Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, or private cPanel hosting);
- DNS Zone Records, including Address (A), CNAME, Mail Exchanger (MX), TXT (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and SRV records;
- Nameserver updates typically propagate globally within two (2) to twenty-four (24) hours across global recursive DNS resolvers.
7. Domain Transfer Policy (ICANN-Compliant Transfers Out)
Dustwon fully respects customer autonomy and adheres to the ICANN Registrar Transfer Policy. We do NOT impose custom permanent locks or withhold transfer authorization codes to prevent clients from migrating to another registrar.
To execute a domain transfer to another registrar, the following procedures and permissible restrictions apply:
A. Permissible ICANN Transfer Restrictions (Lock Periods)
Under ICANN mandatory transfer rules, a domain transfer CANNOT be initiated if:
- 60-Day Initial Registration Lock: The domain was registered less than sixty (60) days prior;
- 60-Day Post-Transfer Lock: The domain was transferred from another registrar less than sixty (60) days prior;
- 60-Day Change-of-Registrant Lock: The registrant contact name, organization, or email address was materially updated within the preceding sixty (60) days (unless the registrant explicitly opted out of the lock during the update where supported);
- Payment Dispute or Unpaid Invoices: There is an active payment dispute, chargeback, or unpaid invoice for the domain registration itself;
- UDRP or Legal Injunction: The domain is subject to an active Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceeding, court order, or fraud lock.
B. Transfer-Out Authorization & Auth-Code / EPP Handling
When a domain is eligible for transfer outside the restricted lock periods:
- The verified registrant may request domain unlock and generation of the Auth-Code (EPP Transfer Secret) via the Client Portal or by submitting an authenticated support ticket;
- Our system verifies the identity of the account holder to prevent unauthorized domain hijacking;
- The Registrar Transfer Lock is toggled to unlocked status;
- The unique Auth-Code / EPP key is generated and provided to the verified registrant contact within five (5) calendar days, as mandated by Section 3 of the ICANN Transfer Policy;
- The registrant provides the Auth-Code to their gaining registrar of choice to initiate the transfer.
C. Distinct Operations: Registrar Transfer vs Hosting Migration vs DNS Change
Clients are expressly informed of the clear technical distinctions between the following operations:
- Registrar Transfer: Changing the commercial managing registrar of the domain name from Dustwon/Dynadot to another registrar (governed by ICANN transfer rules, requires Auth-Code and 60-day eligibility);
- Hosting Migration: Moving your website files, databases, and emails from Dustwon's cloud servers to another web host. A hosting migration does NOT require a domain transfer. Clients can host their website anywhere in the world simply by updating their domain's DNS A records or nameservers in our Client Portal;
- Change of Registrant / Ownership: Updating the legal owner or organization name of the domain. This is an internal contact update within our portal and does not require an external transfer.
8. Dispute Resolution & Abuse Protocols
All registered domains are subject to the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) and the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) system approved by ICANN for trademark disputes, as well as the .IN Dispute Resolution Policy (INDRP) for .in domains.
To report domain abuse, phishing, spam, or copyright infringement involving a domain registered through Dustwon, contact our dedicated compliance desk at support@dustwon.com. Verified abusive domains will be investigated and suspended in cooperation with our upstream registrar.
